The auto repair estimate form is used by automotive mechanic shops to write all the details related to an automotive repair job. This estimate is presented to the vehicle owner, the insurance company, or whoever is responsible for paying for the job. It is pre-printed on carbonless NCR paper to create multiple copies once the estimate is complete. It is also common to have the estimate and repair work order made into one form so that once the estimate is accepted by the client, it is then given to the mechanic as a work order to complete the job.

There is a terms and conditions area that says "The above estimate is based on our inspection and does not cover additional parts or labor which may be required after the work has started. Worn or damaged parts, not evident on the first inspection, may be discovered and you will be contacted for authorization for additional work. Parts prices subject to change without notice. This estimate is good for x number of days."
